Most people aren’t likely looking to add to their “to-do” list the weekend before Christmas.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities. Here are five holiday-appropriate events worth checking out.

“A Christmas Story”

For the pop culture fan. The 1983 film gained status as a cult classic back when cable television was the thing. The whole movie is fairly quotable, which means seeing it with an audience should be fun. Details: 8 p.m. Saturday. Crest Theatre, 1170 Broadway Plaza. $6. Search event on Facebook.

Christmas at Kearney

For the history buff. The turn-of-the-century Kearney Mansion Museum (also known as the Superintendent’s Lodge, thanks to the Fresno Historical Society) gets decorated for the holidays. Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl

For those who want to be festive. Who doesn’t love a good pub crawl? This one includes four spots in (charming) downtown Hanford and includes games (not drinking games) and prizes. Details: Check-in at 4 p.m. Saturday, Restaurant Guanajuatense in Hanford. $12, online only. Dothecrawl.com

“The Nutcracker”

For the traditionalist. “The Nutcracker,” might be the only ballet some people know. Around these parts it’s become an engrained part of the holiday season, with several companies doing annual performances. This one is from the Central California Ballet. Ice skating

For those from the East Coast. Ice skating isn’t so much of a thing on the West Coast, not in the way that it is in New York, let’s say, where they set up a rink at Rockefeller Center.
