Rep. David Valadao, R-Hanford, is one of two San Joaquin Valley congressmen being targeted in a new Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee ad campaign that focuses on health care.
Ads that will start airing on Valley radio and television channels Thursdaywill criticize Valadao and Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Turlock, for supporting GOP efforts to scale back Obamacare.
The “D Triple C,” as it is commonly known, says it is spending more than $100,000 in the Valley on the advertising. The television ad is the first by the DCCC to air anywhere in the nation in what it considers the 2018 election cycle.
“This ad campaign – the first of its kind for the DCCC this cycle – demonstrates that while Democrats work to increase access to affordable health insurance for hard-working Americans, House Republicans like Jeff Denham and David Valadao will never stop trying to rip it away,” said DCCC spokesman Drew Godinich.
While Democrats use health care to criticize Valadao, he has easily turned aside opponents in his previous elections despite representing a district where Democrats have the edge in registration.
